Yippee do! Im going up to NYC to see the Takashi Murakami retrospective at the Brooklyn Museum. He is a really important figure in my interest in the visual representations of trauma. He is so fascinating to me because he takes cuteness and pushes it to the point of grotesque. (Like, uh, note the happy friendly mushroom cloud.) There is more info on the exhibit here. But I may not be able to post for a few days while Im traveling and tooling around Brooklyn.
