We have planned to install a new wood floor for a long time. This summer is the time. I'm posting the beginning of the process and will add pictures as we go along. At some point I hope to have one of those time lapsed jobs that show the whole process - start to finish.

ooh, excellent. good luck. after approx. 8 trips to the lumber liquidators for our living/dining room, i feel a kindred spirit with other carpet-to-hardwood converters. hooray!
I helped my brother put in a hard wood floor once. It was a character building odyssey of foul language.
However the end result was well worth the effort. It only took us four months to start speaking to each other again.

Here's a tip: don't work with an anal retentive perfectionist.
